Need a lil help.
First my 88 iroc 5.7 tpi 72000 miles fresh tune up.It starts then immediatly stalls if i let the fuel pump fully prime when starting cold.It also blows smoke on startup but mostly when i let the pump fully prime.Alot of times its after its run a while then restarted after sitting 30 min and at cold start too no matter whether i let it fully prime or not.Uses no oil though and smells like fuel.
Second 91 rs 305 t-5 tbi 187,000 miles.Bought it without hearing it and was told a 350 had been swapped in.Had to bypass vats, had to drop tank and reple the hose that connects the FP to the mount, had to replace intake gaskets to stop a coolant leak at back of intake, and had to reconnect tps wires as someone had put both style connections on it(May have wrong throttle body on it-maybe the tb is from the 89 rs that came with the deal). When i go to start it I have to hold the throttle down about 1/4 throttle for it to start.Idles at 2g's cold and revs too damn fast.Just the tiniest tap throttle and its over 6g's in neutral. And for some reason it's awful quiet for straight pipes(the kid that mounts in where the muffler should go-still has duel pipes).
Third the 91 S-10 4wd 4.3 tbi t-5 pickup left by my father has a prob. When it starts to slowdown in whatever gear or bog, trying to give it more fuel won't help,it kinda just kicks back and slows down and you can feel the kick,it's like i sudenly let off the pedal. So i have to slowly feather the pedal then eventually downshift. Also when it sits and idles for 10-20 min it starts to smoke.Anyone have any ideas or know of a good S-10 forum? Also i found that my uncle who replaced the clutch about 30k miles ago cut a vacuum line into going to the transfer case and just layed it over so it has been run with a leak for those miles-but the 4x4 was engaging. Also the clutch engages right off the floor like an old manual clutch. Also how can you calibrate your speedo on these equiped with elec speedo's.It's 10 off.Can i still just change the gear on the inner shaft?
Forth.Where can i get a cheap decent fuel pressure tester kit that can be used on both tbi and tpi?All i can find are the ones for use with a shrader valve.
Thanks
