IROC-Z stalls randomly! Help!!!

Just got off work and I'm sitting at a stop light. The light turns green so I go. So at about 20 mph the engine felt like it stopped pulling for a second kinda felt like a rev limiter. Felt like I let off the gas for a second and got back on. 10 minutes later the car stalls. I crank it again and it drives the rest of the 20 minutes back home without a problem. What could be the issue on this formerly reliable car?

ps: this car is 100% stock and from what I see there are no codes. Motor has 197k miles. Fuel rail holds 40 psi of fuel pressure from what I see on the gauge. Cap, rotor and ICM were changed 2 years ago.

Well thats probably your problem.

Try that first along with new plugs and possibly wires.

They can do wonders to an engine.

How often are you supposed to change the cap, rotor, and ICM for preventative maintenance???

I do it every time i change my spark plugs. The contacts in the cap wear down pretty quick, especially when using MSD boxes.

So if my ignition is stock how many miles before it needs to be checked for wear and tear?

What other problems would cause sudden stalling? I still have no codes even if the car stalled out just awhile ago at random...
