Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Yes it will bolt right up. No hesitation, reservation or equivocation. Especially if it's a 86 TPI. If it's from 87 up, it'll need the center 2 bolt holes on each side of the intake enlarged.
The bigger question is, why would you want to nut a 283 2-barrel like that?
If you want an upgrade instead of a downgrade, try a 4-barrel carb. A Holley 6210 (650 spreadbore mech sec) was my preferred personal weapon back in the days when all we had was 283s and 327s and their hybrids, and we were trying to run against 396s and Hemis and 351 Clevelands. Probably good for 50 more HP than a TPI on that motor.

Good god...
That's the weirdest thing i've ever seen...
It's a tricyle with the tail end of a '57 Belair on it.

i agree, he will probably see lower horse power than if he had a 4-barrel carb on it, but going from a stock 2-barrel carb to TPI would be an upgrade, i think he will see a nice increase in torque.
he said he wants fuel economy & appearance with good throttle response, he can get that from TPI.
on that thing with a 283, i think 35+ MPG with chip tuning is possible.
after all, at 2600 pounds & with 3 wheels, how fast do you really want to go?
