lots of questions on obuild
i got a 91 5.0 tuned port,
this is my basic setup i (im not to sure about going through ebay still, but sane stuff)
this is the block i want! something around 9.1 cr with 64ccs)
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Chevy-350-357-SHO...QQcmdZViewItem
but if i dont get it it will be same thing but with stock 5.0 and a felpro rebuilt kit, whats the stroke on a 5.0
heads (55cc might be to much)
http://cgi.ebay.ca/SPECIAL-305-CHEV-...QQcmdZViewItem
springs claim to handle .550,, an i want a zz4 with 470/510 so that should work with some nice new roller lifters (maybe lt1) , right?
or should i keep stock heads?
obviosly headers, im thinkin 52mm throttle, maybe 24 injecters, a custom prom, and a stealth ram way down the road.
any problems or cautions? i got a low rear gear, not to sure what,, but 120 kmh in 5th between 1500- 2000rpm
i know everyone hates the 5.0 but this is a street motor, and an extreme rush for summer ( i am a gr 12 student, so money and time are hard)
not to mention,, if im still not satisfied, i can always slip in a 454 small block and transfer some components,, but who needs that?

That price for a 350 rebuilt into a 357 cu. in motor is outstanding. However, you are looking at cylinder heads for a 305. And the combustion chamber at 55cc will give you a CR of around 11.0:1. I did not calculate it out, but the CR is going to be pretty high. I suggest that you look at heads design for use on a 350.
The Ford racing 24#/hr injectors are a good choice, but do NOT buy these on ebay, get them from Summit racing.
BTW: no small block parts of importance can be swapped over to a 454. It is obvious to me that before you take this plnge, you should read several books on Chevy small blocks. You are mixing parts that should not be mixed or impossible to mix. I dont want you to think that I'm being too harsh. Just read more and gain more knowledge, and keep asking questions here.

Sounds like your on the right track, but your have some things mixed up, but potentially they may be typo's.
First would like to point out that 55cc chambers on a 350 is an extremely high compression ration 11:1 area, your going to want more like 64cc chambers.
Second of all, if you end up keeping the 305 (im building 2 305's at the moment), dont put on a 58mm throttle body,it will do nothing but hurt your bottom end, the stock TB with an air foil will do just fine. 24lb injectors are nice, but again, un nessecary. if you are bent on upgrading the injectors, the 22lb injectors off of an L98 will do wonders.
Now im assuming your doing most of the work yourself, and arnt afraid to get dirty, so im going to reccomend looking into a summit/speed pro rebuild kit for $320us. That includes hypereutectic pistons (flat, dished, or domed), New main and rod bearings, chromoly piston rings, a new oil pump, new freeze plugs, and all new gaskets. If you have 081 casting heads, this will be cheaper because the 081's flow quite nice with some porting, a valve job, and some over all cleaning. From here you can choose a cam. In my LB9, seeings im aiming for 250fwhp, the stock cam out of an LT1 was plenty for me, so that cam is making its way in at the moment. Stock lifters will be fine, along with pushrods, rockers you can change if you feel nessecary. The stock bottom end will be fine, but be sure to change the valve springs. The stock ones wont take much rev up around 4-5000 rpm if your using over .450 lift.
If you want to spend some extra money, you could take a look at the engine quest vortec heads, their a very nice head that can put out some impressive numbers on a 305.
With the TPI system, im a LTR person my self, so i will be adding SLP high flow runners along with an edelbrock High flow base. the plenum porting should help make some decent numbers also.
Hope this helps,
Sheldon

thanks a lot guys,,, ya i never ment to put the 55cc's on the 350, but i guess either way ill go with 64s
that summit/speed pro is exactly what i have in mind, just with a hotter cam and maybe cheap ebay heads
i was really amazed how cheap that 357 is too! especially if it could accually handle 400 horse, anyone got a problem with the zz4 cam? if its not zz4 its comp 4x4
im sure a 305 will be enough for me for a while, plus i can always upgrade little things (nos, intakes, pullies, turbos)

Nos in a 305, is do-able, but make sure you arnt going to blow it up, or burn your pistons.
Intakes and pullies are obviously do-able, but a forced induction system will cost way more then the amout of extra power you get is worth. If your going to forced induce the 305, just build up a good quick N/a 350.
just my .02

Depends how much money you want to spend, LS7's are a VERY expensive engine.
For what you would spend on an LS7, you could easily get 600 - 700HP in a N/A Gen 1 400.
Up to you however.
My dads twins ( 91 G92/1LE's) one has an LS1, the other has a 4bolt 350, with a cam etc. Both EFI, the LS1 makes more power obviously, so id say if you were to go LS, look for an LS1, LS6 (find a wrecked LS Z28, vette or Z06), or at the MOST LS2.
Hope im helping
