need help immediatly!!
Ok heres the general info...1989 z28 with a 5 speed and a 350 carbed.
heres the problem: car wont turn over
it happened a few days ago. I would turn the key and nothing would happen. Then I would move the shifter around while the key was in the start position and that worked for about a day. Then it stopped again. I tried splicing the clutch safety switch together to see if that wasnt allowing it to turn over but that didnt work. Then I checked the starter. The ground seemed a little loose so i tightened it the best I could, and i went in the car turned the key twice and the third time it started. Ok cool but then I drove it from my parents house to my house on the highway and I go to try to go to work this morning and nothing again. The ground is tight, the started didnt seem to be faiing...what else should I check/do to get this thing to work. Please help
thanks

Have you checked the battery and cables? The battery might be running low on juice to crank the motor over try jumping it to see if it starts right up.

sounds like a bad starter... although you could make sure by checking for a +12VDC signal at the small wire connection on the starter... with +12VDC there, the engine should crank (assuming a good ground and good positive connection to the battery)... If it doesn't, then either the battery is fried (the starter is pulling the battery down way past 10 volts), or the starter is bad... If the battery voltage doesn't change when you apply +12V to the little wire connection, then you more than likely have a bad starter...
