Can somebody help me out with this...
This seems like a dumb question but i sold my motor last year (305 tpi) for a 383 carb and i cant seem to remember what goes on the radiator below the radiator cap. I know there is the overflow hose (small one) and a 5/8" right below that, i have no idea where that goes.

itll go to either your oil cooler or your heater core...if you dont have a oil cooler then itll go straight to your firewall and come out and go into the TB and into the intake manifold and then thru the block.

i thought the next hole was for the trans cooler, and there should be a hole lower as well

You use either the hose that goes from the water pump to the heater core, or the one that goes from the radiator to the heater core. Not both. Pick one, hook the hose to it; plug the other.
Are you still using the factory oil cooler?

So the way i have it will work fine if i plug the one on the radiator? The oil cooler is build in the radiator isnt it? Im putting a t-56 in at the same time so i dont need the use of the oil cooler.

I dont think i have an oil cooler??? I thought you were refering to the transmission lines that run into the radiator.

So if you don't have it, don't worry about it.
IMO it's easier to hook the heater hose to the fitting on the radiator, and put a brass pipe plug in the water pump. Also less chance of it blowing off or leaking or otherwise failing, as compared to an extra piece of rubber on the radiator.

yeah i was worried about the plug on the radiator blowing off, i think ill just rework the hoses to what you suggested. Thanks for the help, can't wait to get this thing running

Either just plug the hole in the radiator, (only 15psi there) or take the hose from the top of the water pump and hook it to the radiator, plug the hole in the top of the water pump. It's the return line from the heater core.
