boy that's a pain in the rear to view, anyway to line those pictures up vertically?
What exactly did you want to know?
Atta boy, (pats Justin on the back) doesn't really seem that helpful...
Engine looks nice and clean, the orange paint is good and shiny. I woulda painted it before the freeze plugs, because I like the color clash of those, makes 'em stand out a bit. But really, the only time people will ever see that is when it's on the stand anyway.
Your car is a nice looking one. Looks startlingly like Matts though. (mwnova66)
What camshaft did you use in that?

ghotachevy i like your headers wish i could have bigger ones like those. and sonix thanks for the comment. no real questions just wanted to show the progress of my project. i do agree 100% with you on the freeze plugs, but i rebuilt the motor about 2 years ago when i was learning about them and my dad painted it all. this time around my older bro is a great painter and he did a great job to me. i just did'nt see the point in replacing almost new freeze plugs just for the look. but if i did i would defiantly leave them brass. as we speak there is an edelbrock performer plus cam in the block but in the mail is a comp xtreme energy 268 cam. duration at fifty 224/230 lift .477/.480 110 lobe separation

sounds good sonix i'm using the performer intake and crane aluminum full roller 1.5 ratio. i'll defiantly get it tuned after its all back together and have pics and videos up. i'll get the cam in thursday and i'll post pics of that up too. oh yea i forgot to ask have either of yall heard or done the s10 converter swap. i'm thinking of doing it but just wanted a little more assurance before i go through with it. it is said to have a stall of 2200 rpm from a 96 4.3 2wd s10

ok heres my new cam its a comp xtreme energy 268 specs are
valve lift at .050: .477/.480
duration at .006 tappet lift: 268/280
valve timing at .006
open int. 26 BTDC; exh. 72 BBDC
close int. 61 ABDC; exh. 27 ATDC
duration at .050 lift: 224/231
at 106 intake centerline
110 lobe separation
should be a nice street cam with a noticeable idle. if anyone has any videos or sound clips with this or a similar cam please post up or you can pm to me i am really anxious to hear the idle.

also the new painted oil pan (paint thanks to my bro jeff)

I don't have any video of it.
It's a very tame cam. You'll have a bit of a noticeable idle, anyone not familiar with cars may not even notice it.
Very easy to tune with, you'll like it.
I would have used a performer RPM, the performer is just a shiny new version of what you had on it stock.

ok thanks sonix. i was thinking about putting in the xe274 but did'nt want to put more cam than the converter would let me. i am going to use the s10 converter which is said to have a stall around 2200 rpm. another thing that led me to use the 268 rather than the 274 is my intake manifold. sometime in the future i may go with a more radical cam and use the air gap performer rpm. thanks for the comment. i'll take a video when the cars all done and post it up. also more progress pics
