Smoking Spark Plug
Hi All,
I recently changed my spark plugs with replacement AC Delcos gapped to .035". I started her up and the engine ran perfectly fine except once she started to warm up, cylinder # 4 started smoking from the spark plug. It appeared that the plug was red hot. I checked the connections and everything seemed fine. I have also performed a search on this but cannot figure what the problem could be. Could the gap be off or debris in the cylinder? I wouldn't think it would be the gap because this would mean either too much spark or not enough. This does not make much sense to me. Any thoughts?
I forgot to mention that when the accelerator is pressed there does not seem to be much power and more gas must be given.
Thanks,
Matt

You sure you have the right kind of plugs in the motor? Gasketed seat plugs won't work in a tapered-seat cylinder head or vice versa. They won't seal up and the combustion gasses will start pushing past them, eventually overheating the plug.
Also, make sure you've got the right wires going to the right plugs. Won't run worth a damn with 2 wires mixed up.
