Valve Springs to match Cam??
Hey..on this site (http://www.hi-performance.com/Mellin...eCamshafts.htm) the cam i want is a Melling Cam part number 22203...was wondering what valve springs on this page (http://www.hi-performance.com/ValveSprings.htm#top) would be right for my car and the cam i want....thanks
I know that cam- it's the same as the Summit house brand K-1103 cam that I've currently got in my 383 blower motor. Lift, duration, LSA and ICL are all identical. (You can buy it at Summit for $80 including a set of lifters).
It doesn't take much spring to work with that cam. Of the list of springs they offer the #981 looks about right. It's the same diameter as stock and will literally bolt in place of a set of stock valve springs, resuing the stock retainers, locks, etc. Also, the "981" part number makes it look suspiciously like the Comp 981 spring which also has identical specs (which I have used many times with mild performance hydraulic flat tappet cams). Plenty of spring for that cam and the price is right.
BTW- that cam also responds nicely to higher ratio 1.6 rockers. Just something to keep in mind as a future upgrade.

hey thanks man but the springs...on the site there two prices listed...$59 and $79...would the $59 be springs for a V6 and the $79 be springs for the V8?...thanks again...also how much do you think i would pay to get someone to install a cam and lifters?

Yes, that would probably be the difference in price. I don't pay others to do my engine work but I've built and worked on quite a few motors in the past 20 years. If you're uncomfortable tackling that job (it's not exactly easy if you're doing it with the motor still in the car) then yes, you might want to pay someone else to do it.
