86+ engines

This could be a dumb question, but are all 86 and up V8 engines all roller lifter?

No.

'87 and up IIRC. Some of the TBI motors kept flat tappets actually, not sure when they swapped over.

All the 87+ engines used in F bodies are rollers. At first trucks had the same "roller" blocks but were equipped with flat tappet cams. Most of the truck blocks can take an OE roller cam with no trouble, but some of the early ones didn't have the necessary machining done.
