Need help....bubbles on the dipstick.

Hey guys, I just got home from school, and I went to check my oil, and fluids which I do about every other weak. Tranny fluid was fine, but when I went to go check the oil fluid, I pulled the dipstick and I found air bubbles on it (not milky). I went and was searching through the old threads already, but I haven't been able to come up wiht a definate cause. Some of the threads point to a head gasket, and some to a bad valve seal leaking oil into the c-chamber (since I've had the car smoke puffs on start up, so I do think my seals are shot, and I do get a pretty noticeable ticking sound whiel I drive, but I've never had bubbles on the dipstick). My motor is a 5.7 wiht about 120k on it, but I do take care of it and change the oil about every 1500 miles. Also on some of the old threads I was reading it mite be due to cold weather? which we have been having reall cold weather here in NY lately. Some other issues that have developed within the last week is an exhaust leak (maybe the culprit?), I'm almost 100% sure it is from the back pass manifold, but I could not get the bolt to turn b/c of how locked up it was, and was planning to take a torch to it this weekend when it gets warmer to try and get it to free up alittle. So if anyone has any advise, or suggestion, or knows what it most likely could be, please let me know. I'll answer what ever questions I can.
Thanks John

I also have not done a compression test on it, since I've had it (about 6months), and i haven't pulled any plugs yet, I'll check them this weekend (hopefully) when i get a chance to work on it due to the weather.

i dunno man, i theres no milk or foam or bad noise or anything, then i dont really see a problem hereother than maybe you need a new exhaust gasket but that has nothing to do with your oil

good luck

Could also be the oil you are using, if it does not contain enough anti-foaming agents....

two things.....

1. coolant in oil....
2. too much oil and its churning......

either way youre not getting the lube you should....... but it wont kill you.
