Help somebody...new engine and parts, runs slow

Ok, I have Jasper 350

BBK 52mm throttle body
SLP runners
Ford racing injectors
Chipped for the injectors
FlowMaster Cat Back System
Under Drive Pulleys

The car has is weak…
This angrys me because the stock engine pulled so hard, and my friend has 2 stock Trans am's (87 and 89) with 305s and I feel both could blow me away with ease

Idles well and sounds fine.
Anyone know why the new one is so slow?
I feel I wasted so much money.
I took it easy and broke it in correctly and it's supposed to built exactly to stock specs.
Any suggestions??

Thanks,
Shane

Jasper 350
That would depend on exactly what 350 you bought from Jasper....

Did you buy an EXACT replacement for a TPI 350? or just the cheeeepest thing that had 350 CID?

If you bought the lowest-bid 350, it's probably got about 8¼:1 compression, a 929 cam, and 882 or 624 heads; in other words, an EXACT duplicate of the notorious 165 HP smogger 350s of the 70s. That would certainly explain the lack of testicular fortitude. I hope you didn't do that.

What head castings are on it? What cam is in it? What pistons did they use?

It’s the exact match for an 89 IROC-Z 350. And I also bought their extra package that comes with all the belts, hoses, and fluids.

It’s actually the second one, they replaced the first one on account of bad piston rings, a guy from jasper had to come out and inspect it.

Maybe I can get the numbers tomorrow. It’s too cold and rainy right now.
