What is the stock coil good to?
I am running the stock coil in my firebird. What power level can the stock coil support?

It's more of an RPM level. It starts falling off pretty drastically above ~5000 RPMs.

Re: What is the stock coil good to?
I put an Accel coil on my otherwise stock T/A, and that sucker would rev to 6 and still feel like it could go further.....I'm gonna miss that motor...lol
In my new 85 Camaro, the previous owner dropped in a 350 from a 93 truck and put an old points style distributor in it...I don't know what coil he decided to toss on there, but it cuts out BAD around 4k rpm...is that normal, or should it be revving past that? I'm sure it's in the coil, and I have a whole new distributor with 65k volt coil ready to drop in, just trying to troubleshoot this problem beforehand....any thoughts or ideas on this?
