Head porting, intake ports finish ?

I've read that it's not best solution to have very smooth finish on
intake ports because fuel don't get mixed well with air if it's too
smooth.

How do you finish intake ports?
Using cartridge rolls (standard abrasives) looks very smooth or is
that rough enough?

The intake ports should be smooth but not polished. See http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.aspx , Part 2. The 80 grit cartridge roll is the last you use. It's still "rough" compared to the polished finish.

if you want to polish anything do the combustion chamber.
Smooth any sharp edges and polish the hell out of it.

Yup, a "wet 80 grit finish" is what you want, got it confirmed years back by a guy who used to work with F1 cars.

not that it was asked, but exhaust ports are like the combustion chambers, polish to a mirror shine.
Good luck with it.
