Another car won't start...

1986 Trans Am 305 4bb. I've searched for a solution on here and didn't find any answers...Anyways I've had no trouble with this car until yesterday. I went to start it up and it just turned over and over, finally after some pedal pumping it spit and sputtered to life, was real rough for a few seconds then everything smoothed out.I took it for a spin around the block and it seemed to be running just fine. Got home, shut it off and tried to start it back up..it started just fine, I did this a few times.Same exact thing happened this morning, wouldn't start, ran real rough at first but this time when it started there was a small cloud of white smoke from the exhaust at first..I let it run for 2 min, shut it off and it started right back up no trouble. 2 weeks ago I replaced plugs, wires pcv valve, air filter, fuel filter, oil change/filter,distributer cap and rotor.Anyone have any idea as to what is going on?

Re: Another car won't start...

Its like your bowls drain all the fuel out. When you first start it, it takes a while to fill up. When you've run it, you can restart immediately because there is fuel.

Re: Another car won't start...

try this right before you trun your car off rev it and then kill it. it leaves some fuel in the bowls so its easier for the next start. its not really a solution but a quick fix. as far as the puff of smoke idk what that would have to do with fuel in the bowls. that would be valve seals more likly

What would cause this in the first place? One day it's fine, the next it starts having problems...And yeah..valve seals is what i was thinking too for the white smoke, but not 100% sure.
