Getting Accessory holes for heads?

I just got a set of aluminum heads in the mail i bought off a guy and it turns out they do not have the accesory holes for the powersteering and alternator , is it possible for me to drill these myself or have a machine shop do it? or should i start looking to get new heads?

Re: Getting Accessory holes for heads?

Depends on the heads. What are they?

Stock heads, you CANNOT drill & tap, because there's no metal there to drill and tap. No bolt hole boss cast in.

Aftermarket heads could be a different matter. But I kind of doubt it.

Personally, I'd return them and get the right thing. I would SURE AS HELL not risk ruining a possibly useful set of heads by trying to shadetree it.

they are aftermarket heads, and i bought them off a guy not a company so it will probably be a pain trying to get my $$ back if i can even get it back.....

i know of a place you can get the power steering bracket, used it on my camel hump heads and no accessory holes.

with a long water pump you'll need item # 402L
its looks pretty sick with nothing on the heads also.
