I am looking at cams and all the ones I see I might want will have to much lift for my 1.6rr's and comp cams 981 springs.
My mods are

will be driving street/strip but want a loppy idle

why do you have to have 1.6 rockers ? Why not pick a cam out that has the correct lift numbers you seek?

well I already have the 1.6's installed on the car. I did them when i changed my valve seals and springs. But I wish I would have looked into it more for this very reson.
Mybe I should just buy some 1.5's and sell these?

You want springs that will match the cams profile so seat pressures and such will effect your decision.. and chances are once you get that lopey idle you want your gears will probably not be as suitable for it.. then the converter isn't loose enough and so on .. how about just a good street cam that will work with what you have? unless you plan on throwing more at this car soon.

well for the time being I am just gonan do the cam swap and headers and Lt1 intake.
I am not sure what the max lift for these springs are.
They are the comp 981 springs that everyone told me to get. yet I cant find max lift anywere.
I would get new springs but are there anymore springs that will hold more lift and still fit the stock heads without machine work?
I will be adding a stall along with rebuilt trans also.
I have 3.27 gears

Probably the reason everybody told you to get 981s, was because of whatever cam you had or were getting at the time. This is one of the reasons I tend to try to get people to prep for this situation on the front end.

if u want something that will work on stock heads with stock fitting styled springs while using 1.6 rockers...i'd just get a LT4 hotcam. it will make good power but be somewhat lopey too. good cam for cheap as well
u wont need to machine the heads for bigger springs, just get screw in studs. just get taller springs and the rest of right valve train to work (retainers/etc). i've seen the part numbers but dont have the link...you'd have to search for LT4 hotcam and springs.
