How much fuel pressure before hose clamps give out?

My Walbro fuel pump came with a new piece of rubber hose to replace the hose between the fuel pump and metal line (in-tank). The kit also came with two hose clamps (screw type) to hold the rubber piece in place. My question is will these clamps keep the line in place when running the fuel pressure required for a LS1? If not, what should be used instead?

I really don't want to drop my fuel tank again anytime soon.

Re: How much fuel pressure before hose clamps give out?

I had the same question when installing my new pump. What I figured out is that the pump is craddled in the sending unit that the metal line is attached to so the distance between the pump and the metal line is fixed all there is to be worried about is the rubber line being able to withstand the pressures of the pump and it should being it came with the pump

i think he is wondering how much fuel pressure the clamp can hold but i would say that if it came in the kit than walbro knows it can handle anything the pump can dish out... they wouldnt want to be sued for people blowing them selfs up...

Clamps should be fine assuming the ends of the lines were flared a bit so the pressure can't force the rubber ends off the metal lines, the flares will "hold" the clamps in place.

Always use 2 clamps. They're what 35 cents each? Yours are by the muffler.
Here's mine coming off of the bypass regulator to the carb. And the hose is on a barb fitting...

Re: How much fuel pressure before hose clamps give out?

Thanks for the help guys.
At first I thought they should be ok since they came with the kit; but I vaguely remembered reading about somebody having problems with hose clamps giving out in their tank. I can't find the thread anymore so it may have been my imagination.

That's a good idea about using two of them; just in case.
