carb tuning for bolt ons

i just got done installing some bolt ons to my '86 lg4. its now got a 256 comp cam, performer intake, and 3" shorty headers with 3" exhaust all the way bak. when i took it out to see how it ran it was barley faster than before (stock motor with open element and a few of the free 'mods') so im assuming its because i need some ignition and carb tuning. from what i understand the only way to alter the overall timing is to burn the prom which i will get to later. i was wondering if anyone could suggest some metering rods, hangers, jets ect. for this combo. the carb is the rebuilt stock ccc

thanx
