New Engine Fluid Fills
Ok, this is going to be more than likely a noob question, but since I have rebuilt the engine, I wanted to make sure before I start it, that I have done everything that I need to do. I am concerned about filling the radiator fluid, or lack thereof in the block. I know I need to let the thermostat open and keep filling and let all the air pockets make their way out, but do I need to try and fill the block with fluid first? For example, should I put some fluid in the block beforehand or should I just wait for the thermostat to open and let it fill that way?
Thanks,
Pat

Pry the thermostat open with your fingers, and put an aspirin tablet in it, to hold it open, when you put it on. Then fill the cooling system as per normal. The aspirin will last long enough to allow the air to get mostly bled up out of the engine before it dissolves harmlessly away.
