A real mystery???
Hi guys, I've got a real puzzler, that maybe someone has ran into before. I've got a 92 350 TPI motor and my number 3 and 5 headers are not getting hot, it has a miss and can not sustain a load??? I've done a compression test both ways with plugs in and plugs out and I read 150lbs each cylinder. I've pulled the valve cover and cranked the car and everything is moving properly, I've put a spark tester on it and noid light and we have spark, and lastly I took my injectors to Napa and they are flowing fine....I'M lost
Everyone has suggested things to change and swap and I've done just about everything, and with no resolve. I was told this weekend to put new intake gaskets on as there maybe a leak ther causing it to suck a small amount of water in distinguishing the spark plug. Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone ran into this before??? Please help.

Sounds like the only thing you have not tested for is injector pulse. Get a noid light and see if you getting any signal to those cyls.
Also I have had a few that ive done all the checking in the world on same symptom. Just by chance I moved the spark plug wire slightly and it went dead then back on. So double check the plug wires and make certain they arent grounding out somewhere.

Swap the spark plug wires. Sounds like they are crossed. Recheck the firing order. If all ok replace the wires. The injectors are batch fired, four at the same time, and they test good, so that should not be the problem I think.

I have tested the injector pulse with a noid light, and I am getting spark with an inline spark tester. They are brand new MSD matched for the car wires. I'll double check the firing order but I'm pretty positive we're good there also. Like I said A REAL MYSTERY..Its got me

Re: A real mystery???
Don't "check the firing order".
Just swap the #3 & #5 plug wires at the dist cap.
Whaddya got to lose? 15 seconds of your time, vs maybe find the problem?

Re: A real mystery???
Problem solved, it was the computer. A buddy of mine (Pat) that co-owns S & P Performance Machine here in Pensacola,Fl, explained that just because the driver is burned in the ECM does not mean that it will not flash a noid light. Another words it provides enough current to light a test light or noid light but not strong enough to open the injector correctly. Problem solved.
