A friend has offered to give me a 350 in which I thought I would swap into my 89 vert. I went to mortec to decode the heads, all the info that they gave was they fit a 305,350 with 1.95-1.5 valves. I was expecting a little more info if anyone has any info or opinions on these heads I would apreciate it the casting # is 14102193. Oh ya if they are worth using will they work with my 89 tpi set up.

 

yep those are good old TBI heads... more old than good that is trash them... and dont think twice about it

Mortec won't tell you that, in most cases. All they tell you, is the applications by engine size and year, with a very few exceptions. They don't bother to get any more specific with the bottom-feeder castings like those, because nobody cares. Everybody pretty much knows they're garbage.

 

I had no clue that they were junk, but I do now thanks for the input. I would like to find a 350 roller motor out of a f body can you tell me which years that motor was factory equipment .

 

why bother... find any 350 sbc from 87 til now and transfer everything over from the 305

well i should change that the SBC from 87 on had roller setups in F bodys so any 350 out of a 87 and newer will work out...

some 87+ truck blocks had the provisions for roller lifters but ran flat tappet instead... go to mortec.com and look at their casting numbers they will tell you what to look for

 

And please try a more readable font, that's just terrible.
