Stripped Head Bolt...hole thing
I realized that one of my intake bolts on my dual plane manifold looked loose and went to tighten it. It wouldn't tighten and essentially pulled straight out of the aluminum head (heads under a year old, bolts 2 months old.) The bolt is fine, but the threads inside the bolt hole are shot.
A friend of mine recommended getting a metric bolt one size bigger and just forcing it in. I don't understand how this could happen seeing as all the bolts screwed in over half way hand tight...weird.
Suggestions? This isn't causing a vacuum leak at the time so it's not too much of a concern, just an annoyance.

Re: Stripped Head Bolt...hole thing
I've got a broken tap lodged in my passenger side L03 head. It's probably not the best situation in the world to run without that bolt in there, but it's working out well enough for me. Just had to make sure the passages in that front corner of the manifold had a realy good seal when I put it back down.
But those were just L03 heads, not nice aluminum ones.
You can always helicoil it if there's nothing in it. Unfortunately mine has a tap lodged in it...

Go to a parts store and pick up a helicoil kit. Drill hole using the proper drill size, tap it and install the helicoil. It should say on the package what you need for a drill size and maybe on the tap itself.
