You folks prolly been asked this question a million times...I have a 89 305 TPI camaro. When I start the car a lot of smoke comes out of the exhaust but that stops about 5 seconds after. Everything runs fine but as soon as I head down the street ( about 5-10 minutes) I approach a stop light and my idle is just rough jumping from 800-1000 rpm if I press the gas slightly it smooths out at about 1250 RPM, or if I throw it into Neutral gear. I recently changed my plugs,capnrotor. When I am in the city, the stop and go traffic is a punisher on my car, I really want to stop this erratic idle problem! I appreciate any help and advice which is given, thank you!

 

check for a vaccuum leak, faulty EGR, bad injector/FPR... any codes? Did this start to happen after you changes the cap/rotor/plugs?

 

There are no codes, and my SES light does not come on, this problem has been happening before I changed the plugsnwires and the capnrotor.... I also did a test drive with the EGR disabled, still no fix. I am guessing it will be the fuel injectors or the FPR
