Update.. timing?
Ok I pulled out spark plug #1 stuck a paper towel in the hole and cranked slightly until it blew out ( thats how I was taught to find TDC). With the piston at the top. I pulled my dist cap off and the rotor is pointing to the middle of the engine bay but lines up with #1 wire on the dist cap. I am not too farmiliar with timing and such so I assume that is ok?

That is okay as long as the rest of the wires are in the correct order from there - clockwise 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

Yep they are! Thanks for the help. Now to figure out why my car will barley run on damp days and if raining wont start at all. My spark seems very weak I am thinking coil? I have tried and tested two seperate carbs and it does this all the time. If its raining out side and I happen to have the hood open for a moment I can just forget about it running at all.

While you got the cap off and it's pointing at #1....check the alignment of the reluctor and magnet.

A new cap and rotor might fix you up.
