Transmission: 700r4 w/ custom shift kit
Head Gasket

I'm taking my 305 TPI apart to repair the head gasket, hopefully this will stop the access exhaust smoke. Ive got the right head off but the left one is being a major pain, there's one bolt i cant get to? help ?

go to sears and get a swivel etension,just used that on mine, also you might want to take your heads in too get new valve seals and milled. It`s not too expensive,i paid 120 for both.

Hastings makes a spring-loaded Universal joint socket extension. Its a HUGE help for bolts that are hard to access. It flexes like a U-joint socket, but doesn't just flop all over the place. Best too I ever bought - I did all the plugs in my '97 LT1 car from the top in 2/3 the time it normally takes. These things are worth their weight in gold for hard to get stuff.

Yeah i got it off with a little bit of wrestling, man chevy tucked the heads right under everything..

When you've done this on an LT1, the 3rdgen isn't so bad lol.
