I think i have a vented gas cap, is this hurting anything?

So i replaced my injectors and latly its been hotter and i keep smelling raw fuel but their are no leeks what so ever from the engine or under the car, no gas smell under the hood. so i started sniffing and it was strongest around me gas cap,

So i know the gas cap is not stock its a locking cap but how would i tell if its vented or bad? im going to buy a non vented cap tommorw but is having this vented cap hurting anything?

also ive never hear a hiss when i remove the cap like ive heard on many other cars.

I didnt think so but it would deffinatly give me a faint smell of raw fuel epscally when its hot or when im driving hard and the gas is sloshing around right?

thats what im concerned about.

a loss in tank pressure wouldnt cause anything to go out of wach? maybe less gas milage cuz some of its evaporating?

Make sure you check your vent line that goes to your charcoal canister.

Nope. What evaporation does happen is negligible.

Even with newer obdII monitored evap systems, they still uses a vented cap as a backup. See if the smell is coming from around the canister also.
