losses power over 4000 rpm

losses power over 4000 rpm

my new motor pull great wot to 4000 rpm and seem to fall off fast. what could be making it losses power over 4000 rpm?

Have you touched that carb yet? timing? hows the fuel system?

what do i need to do to the carb i changed the spring and the fuel system is a stock tpi fuel pump in the tank reg. at 4psi and new filters. timing i really dont understand on my car how to really set it bc it runs best set at 50

Jack up the fuel pressure and knock that timing back, alot...

Somethings wrong if you need 50* adv to have it run decent! Is this initial or 'all in' ??

Depending on the actual cam it should probably need about 10-15* initial but still hit the usual 36* max adv

ok i cant get the timing down i tryed! i need to tune the vac adv thing on the dist. its pulling 35 deg. adv on 15 so it has 50 deg.total at 3000 rpm
