305 HIGH oil pres
I've had my 92 firebird for a few weeks now. one of the first things i did was put a new oil pres sending unit in it. i noticed in the mornings or whenever the engine is cold the oil pres pins the gauge ( over 60 psi ). it souns like the valves might be tapping a little for the first min or 2 but other then that everything is normal. after the car is running for about 10 mins or when the water temp gets around 160 the oil pres seems normal about 20-25 psi at idle. but the cold oil pres seems very high does this sound normal?
I'm also using a conventional 10-30 oil

Re: 305 HIGH oil pres
My 350 has around 60psi cold and around 25psi hot at idle. Thats with a 10/30 oil.

I was curious about that in mine too - it's still stock, unmodded for now. It runs pegged over 60 too - I'll pay attention to see if it calms down once it's warmed up, but I really think it does. I know I've seen it in normal range as well, just didn't pay attention to when.
