What cam to use?
Looking for some advise on a camshaft. It's for a car that my son and I are building, it will be his first car so it's going to be on the mild side. The car is a 85 Z28. I'm going to use my old L98 350. I wanted to get a cam that will increase performance but stay 100% streetable & daily driveable. The car will not need to pass emissions. OK so hear is the engine details, 89 L98 350 out of a 89 Formula, stock bottom, stock heads, edlebrock RPM intake, edlebrock 600 carb with elec choke(1409), headman long tube headers(1 5/8"), with H-pipe to bullet mufflers, corvette stall converter. Any cam advise for this combo would be greatly appreciated. If possibly with still staying streetable my son would like to have a little lopey sound at idle.

If your going with a flat tappet, I would use comp cams 268H, it has a little bit of a lopey idle, but a very good street cam, stock torque converter can be used, and stock accesories wont be affected.
its hyrdaluic.

the engine is a 89 L98 1pc rear main roller cam engine. So I am going to need a hyd roller cam.

most comp cams and crane cams tell you the idle quality, rpm power range, and lobe seperation and what converteres can be used.
finding a mild cam is easy.
both compaines make roller cams.
