start motor wiring heat shield tube mounting ? spark plug wires too ?
ok i give up
does anyone have a way to explain on the 305 engines specifically the carb ones how the freaking starter motor wiring heat tube mounts back there ?
the tube has a long skinny bolt tab on one end and on the other end has a short rounded bolt tab
i dont understand where how it mounts
does it mount vertically or horizontally?
also do the spark plug wires run behind the starter wiring, or out inbetween the wiring and the manifold ?
its easy to take the engine out and forget how in the heck these go
in which i have done
yet again
probably will have the same problem on the 85 Elky LG4 when its time to put the engine back in it soon after i reassemble it when the machine shop is done with it
thanks

that tube is horizontal iirc.
mine is left hanging.
not too sure about plug wires, personal preference?

It's not really either horizontal or vertical, exactly... It kind of wraps around the solenoid.
One end goes under a bell housing bolt, the other goes under one of the screws that holds the solenoid to the starter motor.
