Re: comp cams XE268
What are the specs?
I install a cam from Doug Herbert Cams
214-223 @ 0.050", .500" lift, 104intakeCL, 112 separation. Runs great with 15"of vac and stock computer and a superchip. I'm running a 200r4 and 3.73 in the rear! HO 305 with CCC
q-jet...Have to recalibrate the carb though!!

The XE268 is a pretty good cam. The valve lift is below the typical .480" limit on stock heads, and opens & closes the valves quicker to provide better cylinder filling. But, you also need better valve springs than stock.
"Better sound"? What's "sound" got to do with it?
It'll wake up your L69. Sorry to hear you're running an Edelbrock carb, though.
