To seal or not to seal - that is the question

Hey Ya'll - Ready to install aluminum heads on my finished short block. I'm using Fel-Pro 1010 non - brinelling ( or so advertised ) head gaskets. I've
got two differing opinions on these gaskets. First guy: no gasket sealer is
needed and no retorqueing is needed. Second guy: Permatex aviation
gasket seal both sides of gaskets and no retorqueing. Which is right?
Your knowledge and assistance is always greatly appreciated!

Or Permatex Copper spary... Just though I'd throw another one in there. That's what I used on my aluminum heads with no problems.

I didn't think you were supposed to use any sealant on head gaskets.
A high tack or copper spray can be used, basically to hold it in place - but with dowel pins, I really don't grasp why you'd need it.
This is a .039" thick steel core laminate style, meant for AL heads - for those who don't want to go look up the 1010.

For those I wouldn't bother with sealant.

I used the fel-pro 1094 with copper spray on mine but all this gasket is is a shim.
