Gas pedal came off!
I was driving my dads 5 speed today and the gas pedal fell off and got lodged underneath the pedal!! I drove it home pressing down on the pointed end of the metal shaft. I didnt know which board to post this in...
There seems to be a pin that goes through the plastic pedal/spring and through the metal shaft as well. I tried to reattach it but it fell off again. Is there a clip or something that retains it in place?

It's been a long time since I've looked at that piece. Perhaps someone who has more recent exposure could respond.

Re: Gas pedal came off!
it looks like there is a spring that hooks onto the pedal stem and and against the plastic pedal. a roll pin goes through the holes in the pedal and stem and the coils in the spring. the holes are plastic and they look worn. time for new parts
