Can someone post and tell me what exact type of gear I should be getting?

I have had 2 get chewed off now, and I am now back to using the stock one that was in my 305 LB9 prior to my swap to the 350.

some people said that gear would work, but i would like to know before it too gets chewed off. I have a good filter and magnetic drain plug in there, but id still like to not keep chewing these things up.

also, i have heard some people say my high flow oil pump may be a cause, i just dont see how exactly that would be?

My other question is my distributor has some slight up and down play in the shaft. could this be causing it to get chewed up?

I am thinking of getting another couple of nylon shims to do away with the play? thoughts?
