Can I pull my engine without the tranny?
Hey folks. I know this may sound kinda like a dumb question but... Has anyone pulled the engine in their 5-speed car without pulling the tranny too? I built the engine a few years ago and dropped it in fine. Since then I've converted to 5-speed and was just wondering about the added length of the input shaft on the manual being a pita compaired to the auto. Now it's time to freshen things up and as long as I can wiggle it in place I'd rather not have to fool with pulling the trand too. Any info would be appreciated.

Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Can I pull my engine without the tranny?
Yes it is possible; not a problem.
Break them apart between the engine & BH (leave the BH in the car attached to the trans).
That's how I typically do mine. IMO it's easier than messing around with the trans hagning off the back of the motor.
Easiest to get to the 2 top BH bolts from above, BTW; they're right out in the open once the distributor is out, which it has to be anyway.
