Tune Up!

Ok, I know there's alot of postings under engine tune up. But maybe I missed something. I got my car over 1.5yrs ago from 2nd owner for 2500..maybe too much. The car is a heritage lo3 t5. white w/red. The car only has currently 110K miles so I thought ok, this is doable. I did basic tune up plugs wires filter. Car runs great. Did brakes drums pads. Had rad change after blown up and new water pump, thermostat fluid. freshened up interior(it's my specialty). Also knocked brick guts out and clean cat,car sounds great too.
Then I thought I'd be smart and remove ring around tbi.

But what i really want now is whats next. This is a daily driver(only 1 mi to work) I would really like to get into tuning, later. what sensors should I replace. I would love to be able to take my car to track for first time but at current I feel it is slight I mean slight above stock power. Before I go hi-po parts what basic engine components would help at 110K mi. I am new to this sorry, but gotta start somewhere. I would love some valuable input from senior members or anyone who has decent tips thank you.

Re: Tune Up!

Basic rule of thumb is to start at the rear of the car and move forward. i.e. exhaust should be your first stop.
You can check out the free mods threads for more ideas.

How fast you want to go is determined by how much money you have to spend.

Re: Tune Up!

Thanks for the reply, Viprklr. I have Already Done Shocks, Struts+ lube. Exhaust Headers(shorties) Are Next. I Would Like to Take this Lo3 to Upper End of Mild. Maybe break 14's in 1/4. But what i really want to know is at 110000K mi what are key parts to replace new to insure best tune all around. thx for reply again!

Re: Tune Up!

Best tune? The major tune-up list covers it all.
There's really nothing left unless you get into ECM programming. Otherwise it's just replacing parts with hi-perf ones.

Re: Tune Up!

All I have done is basic tune. So Adj TPS and IAC, and Timing and I'm set to tune through PCM? Sry So New, at stock will tuning pcm provide any improvement? I know tuning after parts will do it, but will tuning at this basic point do anything? once again thx. I know u probably tire of answering noobie questions, but hey gotta start somewhere why not start strong!

Re: Tune Up!

Yes. GM didn't exactly try too hard in tuning the stock set-up.

Re: Tune Up!

There's a lot of useful info at the diy-prom forum. You'd best start off with some of the stickies regarding proms at the top of either this forum or the TPI forum (forgot which) and reading the stickies at the top of the prom forum. If you don't, you'll get lost.

BTW - I live in Illinois. I still think the Bears suck as well. GO COWBOYS!!
