VATS questions! Please help

I need to know exactly where my vats box/relay is. I have a 1991 Firebird v6 5 speed. I know in some of the f bodies they are located in different spots.. anyone know exactly where it is at?

In case you don't find a problem at the VATS module, this might help:

Re: VATS questions! Please help

The resistor should not be installed "inline" (in series) in the BLK/WHT wire. That will only add resistance to the circuit, and still require contact to the key resistor pellet. The resistor you would install should be installed IN PLACE of the key resistor pellet, between the BLK/WHT wire and VIO/WHT wire. The wiring connector to the ignition lock cylinder will be left disconnected, so the VATS module will read only the resistor you've installed.

Instead of that, let's keep it all here for others to see in case they ever search.

Re: VATS questions! Please help

so i have to stop the wires at the steering column connector, put the resistor to the vio/wht AND blk/wht wires? Just use resistors to put the two wires together? Like:

violet/white wire--resistor--black/white wire.....
_____________ ------ooo------_____________

like that? Sorry Im makin this so difficult man, I am a bit flustered lately!
