Which head gaskets for EQ heads?
Which head gaskets for EQ heads?
I'm puttin EQ LIGHTNING (CH350C) vortecs on my std. bore 305. Have gotten two different answers locally... So which to use, 305 or 350 head gaskets? Also which thickness?..Heads have been milled .040 and my stock pistons are not dished. Just valve reliefs and the beveled edge on my pistons. thanks

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Use the gaskets that match the heads. If the heads are 350 type, use 350 Vortec gaskets.

Re: Which head gaskets for EQ heads?
Thanks for the welcome.. Advice taken.. Looks like I'll be getting the Fel-pro head rebuild set for the L31 heads. Had my original heads(416) off in the past and could of sworn to have had the average dished pistons. So I had my vortecs milled to get closer to 58cc. When I gotta round to removing the 416 heads was suprised to see non-dished.
