Heads question...
Hey everyone,
I know that this is probably a dumb question, but what is the difference between the Vortec and non Vortec heads?
Thanks in advance for the help!!

Re: Heads question...
I guess my actual question is:
I have an 91 RS LO3, and I will soon be doing the TPI swap, what should I do about the heads? Will the LO3 heads work? Or what should I look for? My plans are to make a fun-to-drive yet still daily driver, so nothing to exotic or expensive. Plus, I am in Cali, so that probably limits me like crazy.
Also, what about a cam? Would I need to change that?
Thanks for the help!!

Re: Heads question...
The LO3 heads aren't very high perf, you can grab TPI heads, 081 casting.
Vortec heads are a totally different ballgame, and would require a vortec intake manifold. A Vortec TPI base is somewhat expensive, but you could go that route if you wanted.
Yea, upgrade the cam, TBI motors got a WEENIE cam. Look at a comp roller that's computer compatible. Something like XR264HR-14 or whatever it would be. The second smallest one in the list IIRC.
