305 possoboilites???
i am just wondering what can i do with my old 305 that i pulled out of my 85 t/a. with the right parts what is the most anyone has ever gotten out of a 305 with or without spray?? can you put a 350 crank in it??? could it handle a 250 spray with all the right parts or am i just day dreaming???

A search will show that regardless of what you do to a 305, it is not money well spent once you spend any money on the shortblock - in other words, spending money on things that won't transfer over to a 350. The simple truth is although typical small block Chevy hot rod stuff will improve the way a 305 runs, it will never respond as well as 4" bore SBC's do.
My 1/4 mile times improved over a second when I put a 350 shortblock in with basically the same stuff that was on the 305 (slightly different cam). That's more than the improvement when going from stock 305 to "hopped-up" 305. And, believe me, the "hopped-up" 305 was a lot more fun to drive than the stock 305 was.
