Engine swap questions
OK i have a 91 camaro 305 carb that i converted from tbi. Motors done for so I found a 350 that I wanna say is out of a late 70's truck. It was rebuilt 1 year ago, so they say, but it sounds really good. My questions are it has the fuel pump that is mounted on the bottom front of the motor. When I did the swap i kept my in tank pump and just installed a regulator. Can I block that off or should I just use it? Or is it completely removable? 2nd questions is will the motor bolt up to my 700r4 without switching flywheels or whatever else may need to be done. I wont have any exact specs on the motor till I pull the numbers off the block. Just kinda confused on a few little things. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Engine swap questions
You can use the mechanical fuel pump, or ignore it if your in-tank pump has a regulator. Your choice.
A 2 piece RMS block like your 350 will use a different flexplate than a 1 piece RMS block like your 305. Fortunately flywheels are cheap.

Re: Engine swap questions
I thought I would have to have a new flexplate but just wanted to make sure. And after I posted this I found that i could just pull that pump off and buy a plate to block it off thanks for the info!
