i was parking my car at home today after coming from a friends house, its about a 2 mile drive. so i park my car in my space and turn off the car, i also accidentally left the lights on, but anyways right when i turn off the car i hear this wierd sound kinda like its coming from the front right of the car kinda by the passengers seat. it sounds like cranking but kinda more like coughing, but more evenly and repeating over and over about 5 times all of them equal in length. even the floor of the car vibrated alittle bit, has anyone heard of this? i havent had any problems with that car seeing as how i just bought it

 

take a look at your engine mounts you may have one that is sagging badly or is deteriorated so the engine is resting on the frame(possibly the pass side). also check and see if your starter is tight against the block and not hanging on the flywheel.
