Clicking noise?

I floored it the other day and it downshifted hard as normal for power. After that I had clicking noise that sounds like is coming from the flywheel area. I took it to a tranny shop and they detached the torque converter so the trans wouldn't turn at all and still heard the noise. Therefore, they don't believe it is from the flywheel or flexplate. They think it is coming from the engine. Any thoughts on what this may be. I would assume it's in the bottom end. The clicking increases with engine speed. Thanks!

Re: Clicking noise?

take some rubber hose and hold it on the valve cover above each rocker, and put the other end to your ear.

youll hear the ticking IF its a rocker that way.
