rear gears

so i need to get a new speedo because mine is off bot exactly sure by how much. i know that to get the speedo to read right i need to have the right sending unit for my rear gears so im woundering the easiest way to tell what i have because i think the guy that had the car changed it out and i lost his number.

Same as everybody else....

Take of the rear end cover and look.

You just got the car, right?

And one of the first things you do when you get a car is to change the fluids, right? Because you have NO IDEA when it was last done, IF EVER?

There's fluid in the rear, right?

Needs changed, right? Gotta take off the cover to change it.

While you're doing the standard "just got the car" maintenance, make a point of looking at the gears, and either finding the stamping on the edge of the ring, or just counting the teeth.

And, inspect it to see whether it has a posi in it as well. You'll need to know that so you can put the additive back into the new fluid of necessary.

alright thanks man i changed all of the fluid and didnt even think of the fluid in the rear gear box. im ganna do that right away!
