No Power & Then Power, Please Help
I Have A 92 RS, It Has A Vortec 305, And I've Had Problems With It Starting, Sometimes I Get In, Turn The Key & Nothing, No Clicks, Nothing.
At First I Thought It Was The VATS System, But Replaced The Key & It Still Does It.
Sometimes I Try To Start It & It Clicks Sometimes As Many As 20 Times But Eventually Starts.
The Other Night, I Go Out To Start It & Click,Click Start, It Ran For Approx 30 Seconds & Died, I Had No Power Anywhere, No Lights, No Radio, Nothing.
I Thought Maybe I Had Blown A Fusible Link, But The Next Evening, I Go Out To Check It, I Opened The Door & The Dome Light Came On, So I Try It & It Started Right Up.
Has Anyone Else Had A Similar Problem?
My Wife Also Drives This Car & I Don't Want It To Break Down On Her.
Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

Dan - welcome to TGO
You may have couple of problems:
Check the basics first - battery, check battery terminal for crud buildup, battery to starter main cable and all grounds. I do not have electrical schematic for 92, but I think main ignition bus is fed through orange #10 AWG wire taped right at positive battery terminal - there should be a fuse before it hits the firewall. Check all connectors, over time oxidation takes it toll. n
You may have a bad park-neutral (P/N) switch - cycle gear level from park to neutral - see if its starts.
