Self aligning rockers for cam 6000-6300 rpms?
I have Comp Magnum 1.6 rockers that are self aligning for my L98. I want to know if i should change over to guideplates and NSA rockers when i throw a cam in this motor. plan to spin to no more than 6200rpms or so.
Is there more saftey/control with guideplates at this rpm range?

I'm not running guide plates in mine and I have a .481 intake and .496 exhause valve lift with my roller cam and the 1.6 rockers. I have been known to 6500+ rpms and have not had any problems as of yet.
I will say its better to have for the extra support.

if i can get away without it that will be fine but i have no problems purchasing new ones and selling off these ones i have now
i'm thinkin of running either the 224/230 cam with .536/.544 lift or the 230/236 cam with w/e that lift works to be with 1.6's..probly .540/.550 ish

I don't think there's any reliability difference between the two. SA rockers are stock for anything newer than 1987, ergo 4th gens use them. I imagine many are modified and running higher RPMs, so I wouldn't sweat it.
