New Knight Rider
Lock this ASAP!
The new KITT isn't a Firebird. It's now a Ford Shelby Mustang! It just won't be the same. They could have at least used the new Camaro styling to keep it an F-body.

They aren't likely to use a car that isn't currently in production.
Besides, a stupid show deserves a stupid prop.

Re: New Knight Rider
I still remember watching the original show. If you watch close enough, you can see when the car did most of the jumps, it was a dune buggy with a fiberglass body over it.
I suppose they could have made a worse choice by using some import.

Re: New Knight Rider
well it makes sense, the stang is a hot car now, the 80's had our thirdgens and now the new millenium has those. Crappy deal though, but it's not like they could bring back the old style, plus nobody in their right mind would try it with a 4th gen so the mustang seems like the most sensible choice

Being a die hard Mustang guy, my gripe is those ugly *** stripes. Take that crap off. On another note, they should have definately kept it GM and used a Vette or something.
Black on black 07 Z06 as KITT would have been a bad ***.

Re: New Knight Rider
I know they did Knight Rider 2000 and killed the Trans Am But I think more knight rider fans would rather see kitt in third gen form. I Love third gens because of knight rider and also the irocz. I know they won't generally use a car that is not in production but they used a shelby gt 500 for gone in 60 seconds. Why not do it for the knight rider movie. Third gens have lines that no other car can come close to. It is by far the only way to have kitt. And I plan on building a kitt clone in the future. Long live kitt as a trans am.

Re: New Knight Rider
only reason that dukes of hazard was worth watching AT ALL was the classic charger, (well that and J. Simpson
) and that movie was still junk.
Call me a geek, but I love the original show, and I think without the T/A it's not even worth giving look to, I am going to avoid it like the plague, just like I avoided knight rider 2010 or Team knight rider (that had a mustang too
).
It's just another junk rehash trying to cash in on a classic show's name and nostalgic past. not worth the media it's shot on IMO.

Re: New Knight Rider
Noticed the wing on the back.... YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! Turned me right away.. It makes it look like a fast and furious import now. Would alot more appealing if it was at least custom molded for the car.

Re: New Knight Rider
About every f-body owner out there that knows of new knight rider is bashing the show. A 3900 pound mustang just isn't that cool.
It is possible to make a thirdgen look as modern as about any car out there with aftermarket hoods/spoilers, and other mods. No need to use any other car.
