83 camaro problem stalls

Ok I have a 1983 Camaro berlinetta 5.0 v8.. when i attempt to drive it it bogs down when i give it gas and doesnt accelerate, after awhile it gets worse to the point where i have to constantly give it gas to keep it running.. it will stall on me after about 5 to ten minutes of running.. It doesnt just shut off either, it bogs down and idles real slow to the point where it just turns off. and it will start reight back up.. It has a brand new exhaust, battery and starter and getting a new alternator tomorow to hopefully fix it. what do you think the problem is?

and the repair place thats working on it is throwing in the alternator because they say it has weird voltage fluctuations or something like that and it may be causing it to die.. do you think there full of **** or is this possible?

Sounds like a clogged Cat converter to me.
