plug wire question.
Well ive had 2 pairs of Borg Warner wires in less then 6k miles. Last time I bought the oem replacement size I think 7.5mm,they were fine for a few thousand miles and then slowly started noticing misses at idle. I went out one night and noticed they were arcing bad. I replaced the wires cap and rotor (didnt touch the plugs since they were only 3k miles old). Well lately ive been noticing progressively worse idle so I went out again and misted some water and they are arcing all over near the boots. Has anyone else had troubles with these wires? Could having a miss for that long foul the plug and could that attribute to the bad idle also? I think im just gonna do a full tuneup again with either MSD or Taylor wires and AC delco plugs of course...also are the made for you looms worth it? thanks guys.

Re: plug wire question.
I replaced my wires on my 93 F150 a few years ago with Borg Warners. It ran great but noticed one night that all around the plug boots was a faint purple glow. Corona effect? Not the beer! Anyway it didn't cause much of a problem except listening to AM on the radio. Don't know what I could have done to cause it because I replaced the plugs at the same time and used silicone in the boots. Got Borg Warners on my car now and don't notice the problem.

Re: plug wire question.
many O.E.M. wire sets , graphite/carbon core start to deteriorate from date of birth . a good silicone metal core set will make a world of difference . i am useing M.S.D. 8.5 and love them . Acell is also good . spend a few extra dollars and get the good stuff . you won't be sorry .

I use Taylor. I highly recommend them. This exact set http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rt=TAY%2D73051 They alow you to easily duplicate the correct OEM routing, so they don't touch exhaust parts and burn up.

Awesome. Had my eyes on a set of Taylor wires since ive heard a ton of good reviews on them. Should I be ok with any name brand distributor MSD,ACCEL etc?
